MERAS Children's Healthcare is a British institution that focuses on the provision of the clinical care that is both the highest in quality and affordable. It aims to lead by example through utilisation of innovative methods of clinical assessment, application of advanced and cutting edge clinical tests as well as the delivery of the latest and best clinical treatments. It also supports the advancement of specialist knowledge and skills through education and training of healthcare professionals. Finally, through its role in advocacy and research, it not only upholds high quality clinical care but actively aims to continuously raise the standards of clinical care.
We are the only private medical service for children in Scotland that provides both acute and general paediatric clinical care.
Our core team consists of a Consultant Paediatrician, Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner and Highly Specialised Allied Healthcare Professionals such as physiotherapist, speech and language therapist and dietitian.

We aim to try and support a model of 'ambulatory care' as much as possible.
Ambulatory care is the clinical assessment, testing, diagnosis and treatment of children in the community, avoiding the need for hospital admission to the childrens ward or baby unit.
Only the sickest babies and children who cannot be cared for in the community, are admitted to the hospital.
Our vision is therefore to advance the clinical care of babies and children within their own family and social environment.
